Default decat pipe

hi all i have a catback system fitted unknown of manufactuer as had no marking s..any way its fitted now and sounds great , my car has its m.o.t this week so after its passed emissions test im fitting a decat !!! problem im having is how do i know what size pipe to buy as i have no idea of what size the centre section is so i cant buy a decat until i have this info ?? is there a way to find this out measure it or something ?? do i need to get under car
????? also do all classic decat pipes fit one another ??? i own a 1999 uk 2000 turbo thanks i loof foward to some advice

If the cat back system is bolted to the o/e cat(first exhaust section) without any modifications? Then all you need is a direct replacement decat pipe.

Take a picture or two and post them up. Particularly the joint under the pasenger foot well area

the cat back is bolted to the original cat converter!! and i have the original standard turbo to be bolted to with new down pipe td04 isnt it on mine???? also is there any emission control plug or anything needed to be bolted to a decat pipe??

Something like a standard h&s decat downpipe would be perfect. Yes there is a lambda sensor just after the turbo i think on your car. Remove it from the cat pipe and fit into the decat.

You are aware you should have at minimum a check on a rolling road once youve decated it? Ideally a remap

yes although i have been told by a few people there cars run fine without the map!

Some do. Depends totally on whether your willing to risk it. Personally i like to have more benifit from the decat an know its safe. So i always remap.
