How new is it? I was looking for one for my classic while back and seen a few selling cheaper due to it being out of shape? Possibly a common fault?

sae problem here with my bugeye, the whole boot was sitting 5mm higher that the shell, i had to cut the hinges down to lower the boot,

if i was you if it sits lower near the rear window put a little washer between the hinge and the boot, see if that works
