Default Porting V5 manifolds ?

Hi Guys/Gals

I'm going to be fitting a few mods to my 99' sti wagon in the coming weeks namely AFP 18G,phase 2 inlet hose,550's,FMIC,Lateral headers/up pipe(both wrapped), walbro, cold air feed from front fog and a few other bits ,then mapped to my Apexi ecu with a AVCR hopefully!

The question is,

I have a spare V5 bare manifold going for powdercoating soon and wondered if anyone has done any porting on these and have any guide lines as to how much to port, how deep to go into the manifold etc or indeed have any photos
And what if any are the gains ( I assume increased air flow)
Thanks in advance
Neil

First make sure that not a bit of the powdercoating is left inside the manifold when it's returned. There are a few horror stories on here.

Similarly with the cold (puddle sucking) air feed from the fog cover. The CS 400 Cosworth Subaru does OK with a standard air box.

Never heard of a ported inlet manifold before .

Cheers for that buddy,

The cold air feed is only the hose up thro the wing to the air filter in the engine bay, not one of those with the air filter down in the inner wing sucking up puddles

I know but it will still channel water up into the filter. That's why the "hopper" system is used. It collects any inhaled water and holds it away from the filter.

Have a chat to Engine Tuner, he's the geezer but the whole CAIK/trunking debate will last as long a VTA dump valves question.
