Has he done more work than he quoted for? How is he justifying the extra cost?

I have only spoke with him over the phone, when I questioned him why he replied there was more work involved. When I pick the car up and cannot see the "extra" work where do I stand?

You need to ask him to explain what the extra work was and why he didn't quote for it in the first place and go from there, if he gives you reasonable answers, pay up. If not... well I'm not sure about where you stand legally unless you have anything in writing?

Default Body Work

Hi guys,

I would hold off paying the £250 mate. If he had a verbal agreement for £200 then thats what it should be.

If he'd called you to discuss extras before the work then the £250 would be understandable. The whole point of a quote is so that you know you can afford the work.

I'd tell him that you only budgeted for the £200 as he originally said.

I suspect he thinks that it's only an extra £50 so you won't argue the point.

Did you get a written or verbal quote?

Thanks for the replies, picked the car up and it looks to be a very good job, I asked if he could show me the extra £50 worth of work and he could only reply it took longer than expected and paint, so we settled on a mid ground of £225, cudnt be arsed to argue over £25 plus it was a good job. Why ppl can't just be straight is beyond me.
