I test drove one on moday (albeit a short test drive) it felt a VERY good car to drive About 4-5 times better than my MY95 Turbo Wagon. The problem is that, it would cost a lot more to insure, and still carries the usuall annoyancies in the Subaru build Quality, so people would feel that they can't justify spending so much on such a car. I however wouldn't care less, as it felt so good to drive, and i couldn't care less about a smooth ride

Just my 2p worth, even if it is rubbish

No there's not a problem. I got mine about 3 weeks ago (my third Impreza turbo) and this is by far the best.

If you look at the threads in question, you will see valid reasons for the sale in each case (except for Chins who has a reputation for only keeping new cars for about 10 minutes).

I'd have to say on my defence since meeting Rod (whos one of the others selling his STI) he become my mentor. He's done 5 cars this year, I'm only on three .

Is there a problem ? No. Its a great car. My 7th Scooby and the best. Its crying out for the PPP. Not because its underpowered, but because the car can cope with more.

Dont let the for sale section put you off.

Hi all,

totally agree with Chins (my new student!). The STi is a great car it's just that I would be a fool to pass up the 996 Convertible option.

My only gripe with the STi is that they have taken an age to release the PPP - should have been available at the cars release and then no-one would every change.

Cars this year..

Audi RS4 (sold)
BMW M3 (sold)
Ferrari 355 Challenge (keeping)
Subaru STi 7 (selling)
996 Convertible (arrives June)

I am the king of fickle !

Definately nothing wrong with my Sti Uk. Build quality is 10 times better than my 99MY. Car is just so much better in every aspect apart from insurance which is a liitle pricey. Even this though can be Ok with a bit of looking around.

Seems to me like a lot of people cant accept that the Sti like the P1 before it is a good car.

Chip.

Cool

Rod

Get another RS4 and instead of selling it, give it away (to me ) as I'm sure it'll make you feel good

Just realized if you swop you car ever month then you have no fuel bills (free tank of fuel should last you), no road tax as its always in the post, you probably havent got time to clean it as well. So save on car cleaning kit but wouldnt it be cheaper to higher one though or ask for an extended test drive . My mates think I swop mine often but my last scoob I had for two years makes me look like an amateur in comparison .

Yep but you have to run them in so economy would not be that bad could take a more than a month at sub 4000 rpm.

Just thought maybe you could get a job as a demonstrator runner-inner and charge them for your time .
