splitter diffuser
Going for the ta look wide arches bgw etc just curious What have people made there front splitters diffusers out of just the flat race style. I'd like to make it out of carbon but would obviously cost a fair chunk of change. Also few pics if anybody's got them

you havent by any chance been to watch TA today at cadwell have you? (it always give me ideas! )
most of the cars there have them made out of wood (painted black) or ally sheet
how road legal they would be is a different question........
but they do look good!

OK, in that case i highly recommend "Competition Car Aerodynamics" by Simon McBeath.
In short:
Don't make it too thin, as it gets significant loadings on it (ball park if you can stand on it without it flexing too badly, you're on track).
Do not make it pointy - a rounded shape is much better (I.e no sharp v-shaped edge etc). This ties in with the too thin bit - 18mm plywood would possibly work well for the leading edge, though this can be thinner as you go further back.
Consider extending it underneath the engine bay, i.e. don't stop right at the bumper.
Consider building an air dam for your radiator / ic package as well, as that will affect the splitter also.
