Pricing query.... Help please
Hi I've got a 2005 Subaru WRX. I've recently been looking at upgrade options and I had a garage recommended to me by a friend. It's a subaru garage and the guy was a nice chap and seemed to know what he was talking about..
He discussed taking the car up to 340bhp for £1820
These are the mods he suggested and the prices,
Turbo £300
Injectors 550cc £120
Fuel pump £80
Panel filter cossy £35
De-cat x2 £120
De-cat up pipe £50
Tumbler deletes £50
New gaskets x 9 £120
3 port boost solenoid £45
Sti intercooler £150
Boost Gauge £100
Mapping incl anti lag, launch control, low/high boost option, temp sensor £400
Labour £250
Total is £1820 and he says will give me 340bhp/ 320ftlb
how do they stack up to your experiences? How different will the car feel to standard? Thanks in advance for any responses.

Anti Lag and Launch control on the OE ECU, is that Enginemapper in Wrexham by any chance.
TGV deletes for that price will be remove the butterflies and fit a blanking kit, then delete the fault codes during the remap, but I thought they were only fitted to the WRX
Seems like sensible mods and a good price though

Prices as laid out above I would say seen pretty bang on tbf, only thing you could you could shave a few quid off would be the boost gauge, but for that money it will be half about
Labour price seems fair, just make sure its AGREED before hand as people can get stung with " oh this didn't go right so had to change from X over to Y etc that's where bills quickly start to get out of hand, but if its a reputable garage I'm sure that wont happen but just be aware that's all, don't be thinking your having a bargain and turning up to find an extra few quid on the bill because of this and that, if the car needs it then fair enough but get them to check with yourself before hand rather than just taking the liberty and fitting it, if it was something that is 100% needed then we have just changed the part in the past and kept the old one for reference to show the customer, and if they weren't very happy ( which is rare anyway ) about the added expense we always worked something out for them weather it be discounted service next time around or try to sort something with their bill, its all about the after sales as well you see good customer service is becoming hard to find these days

Brakes and susp etc. were always the first things I looked at in the past, prior to more power

If you did it in stages there's only the fuel pump, boost gauge and panel filter that you could do without needing a map tweek. TGV deletes, turbo and exhausts, injectors and 3-port would be good grouped as all mods would require a map/map tweek so money could be save - also the TGV deletes will need the inlet out so injectors are out, turbo and manifold swap can be done together in one job, so grouping together would save labour bills doing some stuff twice

Seeming as I'm a moron will you put the stages in separate paragraphs... Absolutely clueless.

Stage 1 - can be fitted with no remap, the ECU should be flexible enough to cope with the panel filter and the rest don't affect engine running:
Fuel pump £80
Panel filter cossy £35
Boost Gauge £100
Stage 2a - will require a remap but the TMIC will be removed to fit the TGV delete and injectors:
Injectors 550cc £120
Tumbler deletes £50
Sti intercooler £150
Stage 2b - will require a map tweek if not done with 2a. Some bits such as the TMIC will be off again so there will be some double labour hits:
De-cat x2 £120
De-cat up pipe £50
Turbo £300
3 port boost solenoid £45
New gaskets x 9 £120
Fuel pump £80
Panel filter cossy £35
Boost Gauge £100
