Default De cat entire exhaust system

How hard is it to get thru MOT with full decat?
Is it expensive to put cats back just to pass?
Is it worth full decat for the hassle?

You'd need to find an MOT'er willing to bend the rules to pass.

Probably an hour's labor max to remove a decat downpipe, fit a cat then reverse.

Cheers fonzey, how much do u think they'd
Charge for that? Have u got full decat? Ever been pulled by police?
Worried if I full decat my bugeye that I will be stopped and
Fail emissions test and get fined . Iv already de catted up pipe
Centre section and afterburner silencer. So it would just be the
Down pipe and mid cat section pipe?

I'm running decat up-pipe, decat centre but a prodrive sports cat in the downpipe. In theory, it should pass... but I've never MOT'd the car while I've owned it. Will find out in May!

The centre section is just a pipe, the only cat I've got is in the downpipe.

Sports cat's aren't £2k!

I can't comment on power gains, but you should pass your emissions tests at least!

So what is the difference between a sports cat down pipe, and the
Origional cat down pipe? Will the sports cat
Let me hear the turbo spool up? What benefit would I get
Swapping cat down pipe for a sports cat down pipe?
Just trying to workout if its worth just decating all or
Like u say getting sports cat down p

Hi Johnski,

If you want more power, in my opinion you should get: decat UP, Decat DP, and cat pipe maybe this item or something similiar http://www.scoobyworld.co.uk/catalog...roducts_id=179 with full decatted system you will need a remap + upgrated fuel pump. These mods will take you to 280-285 range. Obviously you will fail MOT. I have been running with these kind of systems for years and I allways keep the original cat and put it back on it's place before mot, very simple and easy job to do.

I have allways favored decat's because they are usually cheaper than sport catted version. And with decatted one you will hear the lovely spooling sound

Original vs sport cat is that sport cat will let exhaust gases flow better.

Friend of mine have sport cat dp and I ca't hear turbo spooling as much as I hear in decat ones

Cheers angryscoob, so lets say I went for the whole decat system, when it
Comes to mot time I would just put the old down pipe back on and that would pass yes? So I really do only need one cat to pass mot. I think I'm gonna
Go full decat u know. I'm almost full decat anyway, iv only gotta get the decat down pipe
Do I need to change the cat pipe too then? Would the cat pipe have to go back on for mot too? Cheers for help. Let me know what you think

I ment the main cat ( the biggest one) that is located under the car between dp and center section. I have passed Mot's in Finland with only main cat but I think they use same tools to measure emissions in Uk

you are not nearly decat, you are the same cat system as standard uk sti's a full decat will require a remap to to avoid overboost and engine damage.

with respect mate, you havent got a clue what you are doing or much understanding of what people are telling you, take it to a garage and get them to point out the cats and what needs to be done.

Oh man I'm so confused lol, so the main car is the
One between dp and centre pipe, cool didn't know that. Can I just ask then,
So there's a cat in the up pipe one in dp, then the main cat, then one in the centre section! So normally there are 4 cats in total to an un modified exhaust
