Audio of the current noise coming from my Rear O/S (from about 30 seconds in).
I've experianced the on load/off load single clunk before with people in the back but this is now constant as of today (50k just it). Seems to be on compression of the suspension (doesn't clunk when the wheel lowers into a dip but does when it raises up into the arch).

Assume this is the standard knocking rear shocks but thought i'd check to see if it is familiar to people as something else like an ARP bush.

Does sound like the shock clonk to me, assuming nothing loose in the boot ( like the jack or spare wheel etc. )

Yep it definitely does, but a pretty bad case of it. I've had it on my 05 STi, the noise is identical and annoying They all suffer from it eventually, there is a design fault with the standard rear shocks. In my case the shocks had completely seized on rebound, causing the knocking.

I had this on my 05 Jdm Sti so I changed the rear shocks but the noise was still there. It turned out to be a shot front strut. Steve.
