Default General tyre query

Hi folks, my blob STI has 225/40/18 tyres, the rears are toyo proxies with about 6mm tread the fronts are falkens but one is almost down to wear markers and needs changed now the other has about 2mm more tread.

My question is would it be ok to leave the rears and just replace the fronts with new tyres ( toyos if possible so they all match ), would this cause any issues with it being awd?

Obviously if it could cause issues I'll just have to whack 4 new tyres on wor lasses credit card

Cheers

Mick

Would it cause a problem changing the fronts ie Falken for two new Toyo's so that all four tyres match. I might be stating the obvious here but I would of thought this would be better. All tyres matching is surely better than odds

I'm on about the tread depths mate, wasn't sure if using new and part wors together would cause issues with drivetrain/diffs etc, obviously running 4 tyres the same as opposed to 4 random tyres would be best lol.

Cheers

Putting two new tyres on the front will be fine. Try keep them matching though as it all helps for grip regards the tread pattern.

I've read and discussed that it is advised to have the tyres with least tread at the front, so you would under steer not oversteer in the case of losing it etc. Sure Rich (M444GY) would enlighten us as he's the tyre guru on here
