Can anyone identify this back box?
Hi, I hope this is in the right place as I am a newbie to this forum. Just bought a 98 Impreza Turbo Wagon and it has this back box on it connected to a decat turbo back system all in 3 inch. I cannot see any identifying marks on the box........any clues anyone. I will at some stage be replacing this system for Cobra or Scott and Hayward but with sports cat so need to know what it is worth.
Thanks in advance for your help
Cheers

Another photo
Hi, thanks for the Japspeed thought, I am not an expert on exhaust systems so have taken a photo of the downpipe to straight section join. Is this a flexi coupling, I see it seems to be springloaded on the joining bolts?
Thanks for your help

Thanks
Ah I was thinking of the old original Scott and Hayward box that I had fitted to my previous Scooby, sort of oval and flattish.

Thanks but looking at it, does seem like the S&H I agree.

What to do now?
So the MOT is due shortly and the neighbours are getting restless. I need something street legal, neighbour friendly and cheap to last for the next few years (the life of the car ideally).
The current system is a 3 in Turbo back H&S with Jap style box and its 'loud'. Should I buy a complete 2.5in Revolution system and resell the Hayward and Scott or what? The cost of an H&S 3 inch sport cat is almost as much as a new turbo back system. Any advice please? Thanks in advance.

Ok so I splashed out the cash and bought a Revo three inch system with shiny downpipe and sports cat. Love the way the silencer sits right up under the floor panel rather than dragging in the weeds like the fitted item.
Started fitting it on Friday spent an hour removing the top four turbo bolts and three hours removing the bottom one. Then about six hours fitting the rest of the system including wrapping the downpipe. Sounds very quiet in comparison with the old system but very deep
So an estimated total of about 10 hours graft to fit the whole turbo back system including removing the old. The injury score is a very large bruise on back of left hand, one removed knuckle and a couple of cuts on the right, about 10 pairs of nitrile gloves and a bucketful of patience and resolution. Have fun if you try it. BTW the acetone and TRF penetrating formula is really good
