Default Does mileage evaporate?

Saw this car approx 4 months ago. Decided not to buy it due to the mileage. It had 197,000kms on the clock at the time. Wonder where the rest of the miles have gone? Here it is anyway:

That was one of the reasons for posting this pal in case someone out there is expecting a 70k car. It will not have any mot history as its a fresh import. Ask for Import sheet, that should have the mileage stated. If that's not there then you will not have to wonder why!!!!!

Admittedly it was 8 years or so ago so things might have changed, but I rang them when my 125,000 mile 3 series appeared on a local forecourt with 55k on the clock a couple of days after we sold it. They said unless I'd actually bought the car there was nothing they could do, when I pressed them they said they'd make a note of it, but that was all.

Good work OP on bringing this to light.

AFIK its not illegal as long as they tell you. The problem with that is you would have to actually buy it to catch them out

jus sports sounds familiar

i have a vague recollection from the lancer register that they're connected to ralliart UK who have something of a dubious reputation

id suggest a bit of extra research wouldn't go amiss when buying from that part of the country

Some poor sod out there has bought what he thinks is a type r with 70,000 on the clock. If anyone knows the poor b*****d, point him in the direction of this thread. Or don't if you think it will tip him over the edge.

If you have the proof that they've knocked the mileage back then I'd shop them
