Default Keep my V2 WRX or go for a UK bug WRX

Hi members,

I currently own an immaculate version 2 WRX running near standard power of 260/270 on a TD05 now I love the car and the way it is set up it has the normal decats, braces, shocks n springs and guages but I find myself looking at bug WRXs.

I'm not sure if I just fancy a change or just looking at them due the neliglible price difference between the cars but I'm interested in hearing other members pov and experiences if they have gone from classic to newage or vise versa.

Thanks Scott

Std bug WRX will be slower in comparison but more comfy. Depends what you use the car for really, but I would only move to an STi if going classic to new age. If it's a well modified WRX running 320 ish then that's a tougher choice. Just my opinion.
Good luck

The car only wants for a remap really, has a bug interior anyway lol.

For an sti yes but there is still a large price difference between the two bugs.

keep the v2, it's also a better place to have your money as the bug will be worth tuppence in a year or two, but a nice classic will hold it's money.

So you think stay with the classic?

As much as I love the car I don't think I will swap it for a bug, the car is set up well and I don't think I want to spend the extra £ getting a bug to simalar standard.

I keep seeing members posting that classic are becoming rare, prices going up or leveling out but how true is this?

Must be some truth in it mate I've been looking for a good condition classic for about 7 weeks and still no joy

Been tempted by a few but they've been wagons when ideally I'm after a saloon

Think I'll be staying with the classic for now and jump to an newage Sti when the time allows.

I went from 97 Classic WRX to 02 Bug WRX and now 06 Blob STI PPP.

The Bug was more refined than the classic but wasn't a patch on it for fun. I felt the classic was raw and like a go-kart, the Bug just felt too heavy

I got to the point where I hated the Bug it was too flabby round corners and would only move when thrashed. I wanted another classic but ended up with the STI- I highly recommend one!

If money and storage was no option I would def get a classic again just for Sunday drives. If I were you I wouldn't think the grass is greener on the newage side. Classics are great to drive plus as was stated earlier good ones are holding/gaining value. Save up-keep the WRX and get a newage STI and not a WRX
