early (phase 1) classic help
Anybody got a fairly standard early classic ???
Need some help on a missing pipe on a pals car. Its the small vac line that runs from the top of the throttle body, its missing from his car and obviously leaking air. I think it goes down towards the air box or maybe something to do with the dump valve.
Any pics would be great,
Ta.

Hi folks
I'm the pal that's mentioned above.
Here's a pic of said missing pipe
I'm thinking it's got something to do with the dv as I recall on my old scoobs that there was a t piece with 3 pipes going in to it where this one has just the one pipe (blue pipe shown).
Any help greatly appreciated
And thank you Matt

The T piece would be added in to run a dv, if all your vacuum's are connected bar that 1 just block it off, some cars have unused lines so just block it up to keep it in vacuum.
Sorry can't help with the location of them, not had alot to do with the early classics, maybe post up a pic of the complete engine, chances are that blue pipe would have been to a bov as its been changed, so is the car running one and if so is it connected to a vac line?
Edit :- I see what your referring to now I assumed you was talking about the blue pipe , block it off for now until you find its correct position.

The only pipe i can see missing in the pic, apart from the dv pipes is off the top of the throttle.. Is that the one your referring to?
Sorry should have added on the photo ( which i shamelessly stole) not to go by the hand, that's for something different..lol

So look at the pic i posted, it's the manifold from the other side.. now like yabbadoo's pic, follow the top black pipe from the throttle to the hard pipe that runs under the manifold..happy days..lol

I`m 90% sure the pipe your missing goes to the fuel pressure regulator which sits just in front of the airbox, on top of the engine, from my poor memory you need to remove air box for easy access
good luck LOL

The pipe thats missing should go from the throttle body to over by the boost solenoid, iirc theres a one way valve in the middle of the pipe, ill check my 94 wagon tomorrow for you and let you know

Do some of the people posting on this thread actually know where things are on their cars?
FPR is at the end of the fuel rail, rather close to the turbo, not in front of the air box, for example.

Err, it is in front of the airbox if you look at the air box from the drivers side wing ! i wasnt describing exactly where it was, im not that ****, i expect people to look for themselves, but if i had said its in front of the fuel filter then yes, that would be misleading !
And only the UK models have the valve to purge the canister, if the O/P car is an import, it doesnt have that valve, so pah to you LOL
