Have had the pleasure of driving the Astra VXR and been in a corsa VXR and although nippy compared a standard STI, theres no comparison the astra & corsa dont come close.

To be fair I was obliterated in my Hawkeye STi once by a VXR Corsa. In the wet.
I was making steady and sensible progress probably around the national speed limit along a bendy backroad when some absolute fookin' idiot came up my rear end with his lights badly adjusted.
Before I could slow down to let him by he flew past so recklessly on an unsighted bend it makes me wonder if he actually made it back home alive to tell his mates he'd rinsed a Scoob. I have seen a lot more Cooper S' and hot Vauxhalls driven like total tossers than I have any other marque of performance hatchbacks.

Wouldn't even give a VXR the time of day, my last trip there was a tuned one running 450hp + and he was struggling to get a 13 second 1/4 mile. I dred to think what it does at a corner................... In fact I know what it does on a corner as I saw it at a track day, it did 4 laps until he worked out his coil over setup was rubbish and he was loosing half his tread in the wheel arches and causing a fair bit of smoke.
The poster on the forum probably overtook a impreza once upon a time and now he thinks he has beaten it, have had it many times people telling me "mate, I was keeping up with you" only for me to reply " that's nice, do ya wanna try again"
Gotta pity them i suppose

I was going to register but really cant be arsed, Maybe the guy in the red Astra VXR with blue wings and blue front bumper who was coming into Blackpool last sunday and thought he had a fast car is on there, Probablly had to change wings and bumper after crashing it,
A little tip if you are reading this the outside lane is for overtaking not for VXR`s

i owned a corsa vxr a few years ago and it was the most unreliable car ive ever owned spent more time in vauxhall than it did in my hands unfortunatly on any car forum u will get people who think like that we're all car enthusiasts not a bunch of chavs we take care etc of our cars not just drive through ripspeed and buy everythink yes u do get the minority of owners who choose to completely chav they're car up but isnt that the same with all cars??

Always makes me laugh that people feel the need to compare their cars to scoobys/evos etc. My fiesta out ran a Scooby! My astra pissed over an Evo! Blah blah blah...
You never see a Scooby driver say "my cars as fast as a Astra". Its always the other way round!
End of the day, we dont compare our cars to their sh*t as we know we are the ones who set the bench mark!

i agree, why are they comparing scoobs with evo, i.e scooby= poor mans evo
totally different cars, if i wanted an evo id but one but i wanted a scooby, its like me saying vxr= poor mans audi
nothing to compare between the both, scooby will always beat them in a straight line, a-b around twists
