Default How was your Scooby on snow?

Subaru's Symmetrical AWD must be one of the best around.
The car (Blob) did me proud over the past few snowy days. (with summer tyres)

The only menace on the roads were the SUV (4x4) pratts, thinking they're invincible. Sadly, they are not as sure-footed as they think they are.

My N/A classic was doing more than awsome IMO. I run on summer tires and only thing I had trouble with is stopping with my ABS going crazy and sliding straight through junctions etc. But that only happened once when I was thinking about god know what.

Actually I have recorded a video of it going up the hill in snow:

I actually had to wait like 10 minutes until a BMW 3 series driver give up going up there. He slid backwards with wheels spinning like 15 times before he gave up and asked his SATNAV for a reroute

And yea, over confident SUV drivers doing like 100mph+ on a semi-covered in snow lane on motorway are bloody scary! :O

220 miles round trip on Friday in the snow to Loire Atlantique - it was a toss up between my WRX or my 1986 Defender, I chose the WRX as a 220 mile round trip for the Defender is a bit long. Don't regret my decision one bit the WRX was great .... AWD, does what it says on the tin

Tell me about it. Had one fly past me on a very icy road doing about 45. Loads of spotlights on even though they arent needed. They think they are invincible but 4wd doesnt mean anything when it comes to braking!! I found this out a couple of days ago when the Scooby slid the full length of the drive towards the metal railings, luckily there was a dry patch where the car had been parked so stopped in time

The video cuts off just when he seems to be heading for those parked cars

Another good advert for winter tyres

Mine was absolutely brilliant, tucked away inside lol, I don't doubt my ability to drive the car in those conditions or the cars ability in snow, I just think people do not have a clue about driving these days let alone in poor conditions and I'm not having some idiot crash into me cos they don't have a clue. Needless to say the hilux has been my transport recently.

Same here, parked the beast up and used the company car!
At least if was hit by idiot not driving to the conditions it would not have been mine that was damaged.
I drive 100 mile trip every day to/from work on the motaway and the amount of idiots is unbelievable!
Inside lane 60mph with the trucks, happy days
Prefer to get there and back in one pice than not at all.

My dccd widetrack has given me no problems at all, I do have winter tyres though, but still can't wait for it to clear up as always aware of others around me on normal tyres, a car today almost slid out of a side road in front of me, I haven't had the abs cut in at all with the winter tyres and braking is far better than on the re070 tyres I used a couple of years ago, had the winter tyres on last year but didn't get enough snow to test them.

The only menace on the roads were the SUV (4x4) pratts, thinking they're invincible. Sadly, they are not as sure-footed as they think they are.
[/QUOTE]

I had some idiot in a kia sportage thing last night whilst on my way to the gym.
Driving up my ar$$ as if it was normal road conditions, i pulled over and let it pass rather than let it carry on into the back of me, i was doing around 45 which i thought was enough in my bugeye seeing as it was -2 outside.

Absolutely shít

I think its fair to say that if your running potenza RE070 I wouldn't entertain trying them on a gradient, they may be a good tyre for the summer, but by Christ they don't know the meaning of grip given this weather, still gets me about but as soon as a bit of gradient is thrown in to the equation its game over diff lock or not it don't friggin move
