Default Help

my check engine light has just come on on my 2005 wrx when I was driving home and has stayed on, I've got the manual and it says I need to have my OBD system checked, any ideas ? All I've changed on the car is the back box, I've put a prodrive one on, but that's been on 3weeks without a problem any ideas or know where I've gone wrong ?

You need a code reader, cheap off eBay or borrow one. You can then read the code and reset it.

Unlikely the back box has caused anything.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Car-Diagno...1&cmd=ViewItem

This is the same as I bought, works a treat.

Comes with instructions, easy to use.

Read the code, reset then report back here for advice!

Perhaps give these guys a call and explain the situation.

Maybe they will very kindly pop out with a reader if you don't want to drive it there? :

I don't know anything about the garage, but just googled Cheltenham Subaru.

Yikes that's steep!

Your mates kit will plug into a socket near the pedals. It will only plug in one way, see this (page 2, 3rd pic down) :

Port is under the dash half way between the steering wheel and peddles.
