Other than insurance, if it's simply fuel and road tax you think you'll be saving on, then consider a turbo model...

Insurance is ridiculous for me and I have 9 yrs NCB! I used to have a bug WRX, but now have a 05 1.8 MG ZS. I get 46 miles to £10 unleaded, so anything close to this is good.

Just fancy a change really.

Just been looking on autotrader and parkers, and they say the tax for a bug wagon n/a is the same band as a turbo?

Think ill look at something else.

Brun, any ideas?

My hawk R-Sport returned 35mpg on a run, 36-37 if I really tried. Ain't bad really. Takes normal petrol too, so that's a bit of saving (a bit!).

Tax band is the same though.

Mine isn't a wagon.. but it has got a for sale sticker on it!

iv just taxed my Bug 2.0 GX non turbo for 6 months it was £148. MPG isnt too bad at around 30mpg, remember its an all wheel drive so as with all 4 wheels drives its gonna use more fuel than a FWD vehicle! but i had a classic 280BHP Turbo a while back and was pumping £10 a day super unleaded in it so that went the journey pretty quick as i do a lot of miles with my business!
insurance i wouldn't know as iv got a traders policy so i can drive whatever i want from a mini to a porsche and my insurance never changes!

Iv had 4 Scoobys in all now, 3 classics (1 turbo 2 non) and my current bugeye GX 2.0. bugeyes feel a lot newer and more modern than the classics in my opinion, i much prefer them and doubt id go back to a classic now but each to his own thats just a matter of opinion really.
