Default What is This?

Had the car for about 8 weeks now. Re-mapped by Duncan and done lots of 'repair the bodge jobs' by previous owner but haven't touched engine apart from service.

I'm not allowed to buy anything for the car until after Christmas (I suspect i'm getting a few bits including a workshop manual).

In the meantime the ECL came on and managed to get the codes off:

P0171
P0244

I also found a pipe had come off and looked like a cheap replacement as it had also collapsed. I have now replaced this with vacum pipe but yet to run the car again since.

Can anyone tell me if this pipe would/could cause the codes above?

Thanks. I replaced the crap pipe that kept popping off and replaced with a proper vacuum pipe.

A friend said it could be Turbo waste gate sensor which would explain fault code I think?

And a very merry Xmas and happy new year to you and yours!

Po171- lean bank one.
P0244- I think is caused by over/under boost and could well be caused by the dodgy vacuum pipe.

Someone will be along to correct me if I'm wrong, and also check my spelling and grammar

If im not mistaken that pipe should go onto a take off on the inlet manifold. There should be 2 small pipes coming out of the manifold, it needs to go to one of them.
Check under the throttle cable bracket for a hidden nipple

Pipe changed for proper vacuum pipe and took car out today for a blast. NO ECL so happy days that in fact it was just the crap pipe fitted by the previous owner.

Thanks for your advice and Merry Christmas & Happy New Scooby Year!
