Default Whats the difference?

Hi - please bear with me as I new on here. I have just bought my first Impreza, a 2010 WRX hatch and am loving it. Looking through the specs online there is a 265ps version and a 230ps version. Mine is the 230ps version and I was wondering if there is any difference in terms of engine and drivetrain between the 2 or whether it is just an ECU mapping thing? Will mine be as tuneable as the 265ps one? I was looking at Scooby clinics performance pack 1 http://www.scoobyclinic.com/services...wrxsti2008.htm
which says it gets the WRX up to about 280bhp.. Is this a decent upgrade to start with and would it apply to my car.

Cheers

Best thing is to have a goal and what you want from the car as so many chase numbers.

Firstly, welcome aboard.

As MrChips says, best to get a target power figure first of all. You should be able to meet your target with carefully selected modifications.

If you keep changing (i.e raising) your target you'll forever be forking out for the next mod, and sinking too much money in the process.

Thanks guys. I guess all I really want to get a bit more power while keeping the car looking and sounding fairly standard. 280bhp would be more than enough for me - what's more important is for the car to be responsive with a decent amount of torque. A local company reckon they can just do a remap and safely get another 40-50 bhp for about £450. Is this recommended?

If you are going for a remap go for a specific scooby tuner not a generic tuner for a remap. Someone like Jolly Green Monster is highly recommended and is also on here. A few basic mods then your target figure is easily achievable.
