"It has a Zero Sports turbo back system on it".+"Not related to the current issue but wont help with power if I am right, can you look in he backbox, recently gained hp changing a zerosports exhaust out on a car as the bbox has a 2inch restriction in it".

My classic struggled up to 337bhp (decat) zero sports... then with only a replacement turbo back system- Steve Simpson brought out 371.1bhp Happy Days

Having dealt with Kev at the clinic and finding him to be a decent and a salt of the earth bloke, I can only conclude he has been pushed too far. There is definitely a cliquey vibe on 22b and Kev said what a lot were thinking but afraid to say. John Felstead goes from poacher to gamekeeper and as Pat (Herborn) said it is not in the spirit of fair play for him to ban Kev, thus negating his ability to defend himself and the Clinic.

On the plus side, the problem with my car has been identified as a result of that thread

From this:

to this

With effectively just an exhaust change a remap.

Yes the Zero Sports stuff really is sh*t!!!

Thanks to Simon, Kev, Pat and the Clinic chaps that worked on the car.

Apologies to Paul at Zen though, he is a decent guy who knows his stuff, I missed the humour in his post so knee jerked a reaction, add some smilies next time Paul.

Kev I respect you for speaking out loud as it needs to be done at times as there is so much mockery going on these days as ways of business tactics and it bothers me that people can say what they like about things, but when the truth is fired back, it hurts.
Regards

"Racing is out there on track with 30 or more cars flat out dodging the back markers for 20 odd minutes bouncing off the rev limiter, brakes on fire, drivers nerves pushed to the limit, and that's the sort of cars we build, everything we learn on track we can introduce into customers fast road cars."

"So you build race cars with badly chosen gear ratios, inadequate brakes and nervous handling?"

I thought this response was witty enough to earn the right to be taken on the chin.
The chin thought otherwise.

At least it shows not all tuners p**s in the same pot
And makes a refreshing change instead of the so called experts knocking us mere mortals down most of the time ( mostly me )

At the end of the day you've got nothing to prove to anyone Kev. You were tinkering with Subarus when most 'experts' were in short trousers. I can understand your frustration at being second guessed by the world and his wife, it wears thin after a while.
Anyway it's Christmas, time to be with those who matter the most. Merry Christmas to you, all at the Clinic and all Scoobynetters.

Another +1 for Scoobyclinic.im not going into too much detail but after being let down by 2 of the tuners commenting on the thread,Scoobyclinic sorted my issues ( which I'd spent 12 months of my time and money trying to sort ) In one mapping session.also ended up with 120 lbs/ft and 90 bhp more at 4.5k revs.i also had more torque and bhp with the clinic vpower map all through the rev range than the previous meth map by the previous mapper.the clinic meth map was mind boggling!!!! Kev is a genuine guy that calls a spade a spade.

Don't want to go into this too seriously, but I do kind of agree. There is a bit of a cliquey mantra, which is fine for small groups etc, but when someone goes against the grain it gets pretty messy, especially if that person is a very knowledgable and respected person.

As a individual I've learnt just to stay away from it all - if I don't fit in, why should I try to force my way through? But when it involves a business and a living, from what is a well respected company, then things take a different swerve and one cannot just sit on the sidelines.

I remember times when I was floating about on various car forums and there is always a few very vocal, yet semi-technically void users. Some of which had taken a vice-like hold on the other forum members, as what they say is etched in stone and cannot be wrong. Their technical justification of certain issues was to be frank, factless and based on supposition (like for example, uplugging crank sensors after oil changes etc.). Not one of them had any work experience in building or indepth engineering on engines, baring a bit of messing about in a shed, yet they seemed to "think" they knew it all. To question them or go against the grain would be a cardinial sin and in some cases would cause a ban!

On forums like that I wouldn't waste my time trying to get my point across, no matter how factual or correct it is. If people are going to listen to a few select people, no matter how wrong they are then who am I to try and change that? But if I had a business at stake and what was being discussed directly involved the work that I do, then maybe I would be more inclined to get involved.
