Default dccd help

Can anyone help. Just had a steering rack replaced on my 2006 hawkeye. Soon as i started the car up the dccd light was flashing green indicating its not functional.

When ignition is on the light works fine going up and down the tree into full lock. As soon as the car is started within 2 seconds the light starts to flash.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Sorry just thought, does it have a steering wheel angle sensor as when its in auto dccd it may use that sensor to calculate and as they have had the rack off the steering wheel may have turned too far or it may just need recalibrating. I maybe totally wrong though!

Hi,

correct sir, they do have a steering angle sensor,

It may need re calibrating or it may have failed.

Problem is you only have to fart near them and they fail, seen many DIY steering wheel swaps never mind racks that have killed them.

Hopefully it just needs telling where the centre is but you will need the correct Subaru diag tackle to sort it, we can do it if you are stuck.

Cheers

Thanks James,

Appreciate your help. I thought it maybe something along the lines of a steering sensor but don't physically get involved in mechanical works myself so thought I'd ask.

Where would you advise taking it? Locally?

Thanks again bud

No worries that was a big help in the right direction James? Alot of these places get the Vaseline ready when they see a new guy walk through the doors. I only trust the guys I been using for the past 10 years on my Subaru's mainly a porsche tech. I could be wrong but dread going to some of these "bigger places"

Max

Did you replace just the rack or the steering wheel / clockspring too? If so there are several variations of clock spring types, all with different plugs during 2004 to 2006, UK and JDM. If wrong one, it may not have the correct DCCD plug on clock spring.
