Turbo 2000 MPG ?
Hi All
I know there is not a definite answer but could some members with a 2000 turbo let me know what MPG they are running on a normal 'A' road run ? and what mods you have done to them.
thanks

A-road run, usually 25-30mpg dependant on speed. Once saw 34mpg on a run to Lancashire, haven't since
Currently well under 20mpg but there's ovbviously something wrong on the Subaru
Mods currently Bob Rawle ECUtek map, 3" decat, Walbro running 284bhp 317lb ft.

I have kept accurate records for 12years 59k miles
250 to the tank in mixed fast drives including town
Can get 280 to the tank on a long slow constant run
Can drop to 230 per tank on a club run out at silly speed
So 25mpg average on a decatted my2000 turbo driven with smiles rather then looking at the fuel gauge
I only do 1200 a year with it now so it doesn't really bother me as the wrxd gets 480/500 per tank

Like for like as it's just turned 40k as fast as the classic in normal driving once you get it into 2nd gear high revs
1st is a waste of time as it spins so fast you need into 2nd then the dreaded nothing untill it spools up again 3rd gear 30-90 is fantastic 4 pulls nicely to ### never use 5th and 6th is great for motorway driving and normal overtaking
I have noticed economy has dropped from 46 mpg to 43/44 lately for some reason but it is such a smooth motorway cruiser with a silent engine
I do miss the scooby burble though and not exciting for traffic light grand pros starts and roaring past grannies but I have my classic for that
Main thing is leans too much on the corners compared to my classic and I can feel sea sick driving it too fast into the corners
I suffer from car sickness on the twisties but I never feel it at all with the classic with the Eibachs and drop links geometry done etc
Steering is great in the new hatch and refinement is fantastic but it just does not have the raw appeal that my classic has but as a every day car I'm really pleased with it after 3 years 6 months
Would I get another one in a new shape 2014
Probably go for a STi petrol as I only do 12k per year now as I have a everyday Honda Accord for boring and economical runs and miss the roar of the flat four that keeps me young at heart
