Question Which Legacy? ? !

I'm looking at a couple of different Legacys but need some expert opinions it'll be our main family car so are after something reliable and moderately cheap to run (this'll be our first legacy after owning a Honda for six years).

We're looking at the 2.5 estate (auto preferred) and are struggling to choose between -
2004 reg, about £3k, over 100k and cam belt done
2005 reg, about £5k, around 70 to 80k and no cam belt change

I've heard of the head gasket issues on the 2.5l engine and 2004 seemed to be the change over year. Also an awful lot of people seem to be getting rid of their Legacys immediately after having the cam belt changed, which seems odd?

Any thoughts or suggestions would be must appreciated for our first scooby

Ask on uklegacy.com; all your questions will be answered. Folks here only have one track minds, for Imprezas!!! Well, that`s not entirely true, but I think that you will have more response over there. Good luck, they are great all weather cars.
