Default engine issue

Went to fire up an engine yesterday but hit a big issue. Got all ready new oil, new coolan,t fresh fuel as the motor has been standing 3 years. Anyway started turning over probably turned 10sec or less then just stopped. Got a socket on crank pulley can wind it back but going forwards it eventually locks up Feels like it's on a valve. Stinks of fuel surely can't be flooded that much to lock it?? Possible head gasket fail and full of coolant!? Checked cambelt not snapped. Going to check timing

Pull the spark plugs out and try turning it over with the socket again
