Do I need an intercooler
Hi guys, we are building a doorslammer drag car, we will be running it on the strip only, is the large front mount needed really? Will it be of benefit over such a short period of time.

my thought would be that although the timescale is very short (hopefully), the heat produced with a very high power engine will be vast, so surely something would be needed. But Im no expert.
Maybe you could consider a water/air cooler - more complex but easier to site without the need for a good air flow. Just something to think about.

Charge coolers are only any good if top notch, we've seen a few duff systems.
Nitrous offers very good charge temp benefits of course.
I don't know of any successful turbocharged drag cars that use no form of charge cooling.
