Default Little vf22 does well

The car is a 1997 sti with a built 2.5,550 injectors, fmic, vf 22 and an apexi ecu. This was mapped by JMG on a safe map as the engine had just about run-in. My plan was to do a few more thousand miles then uprate the gearbox and go for a bigger turbo.

I can believe how much this car pulls on the road, the little 22 is very punchy and feels like it has no lag at all. The thing is I like the way it drives and how responsive it feels, so what turbo do I go for which will feel the same. I'm not chasing figures and like the way the car performs the only reason for wanting more power is that I suppose I've just got use to it.

My V3 STI had a VF23 & it was rapid with good response & almost no lag. Eventually I went for an RCM400 with a Meth mix, & although it runs mid 400s with good response I think the SC42 would have been a better choice & will be my next turbo when funds allow.

The VF 22 is one of the slowest spooling VF turbos, it uses a P20 housing I believe which allows it to make more top end power.
