Default Amp Wiring

I'm planning to wire in my amp at the weekend, just wondering how best to get the power cable from the battery into the cabin.

Which is the best route to use?

My car is a 2006 Spec C.

I dont know about newage but classics have a hole in the bulkhead with grommet inserted where a hole could be made and the power fed. Anything like that visable in the engine bay?

ah, that would be convenient!

I couldn't see anything like that in my engine bay.

Anyone else have any input?

Take your glove box out and there should be some wires going into engine via a rubber, go into there and stretch the rubber for your cable, bit fidley but best option IMO.

use a coathanger, straighten it out and prod it through the grommet, tape the wire to the coat hanger and pull it through.
has worked on every car for me just be careful not to pierce any cables.

Just dont pull it to fast or you can burn through your wiring harness with the friction of the power cable rubbing against the smaller less insulated loom wires, it dont happen that often but it can be done

so does it need to go inside the grommit with the other wires or just randomly poke through the grommit?

I will stick some grease on it to avoid too much friction

Don't put grease on it, just spit on it then seal the hole with silicone sealant, if you use grease the sealant won't stick.

So does it want to go through the grommit or inside the grommit?!

Make a small X with a stanley blade towards the outer of the grommet and feed the wire through there, i would not recommend pulling the grommet aside and putting it along side it as you can get damp in through there if not sealed tight to bulkhead again, so feed it through and put a small ring of sealant around the power cable when its at the length you want in the car
