Default Metal fuel line

Hi, I have a 99 uk classic and my metal fuel high pressure fuel line which , which goes from bulkhead along car and comes out from under rear seat , rusted and was leaking at the end.
I managed to get another one from a local breakers but it came from a non facelift model, dont no which year. Because the clip and hard plastic pipe that connects to it, the quick release clip broke, i manged to get a replacement line from breakers from this forum.
The hard plastic pipe is the right one but it will not connect to the metal pipe, there must be a slight change in the metal pipe end . Does anybody no what year the metal pipe changed, i dont have my old one to compare. Thanks
