Absolutely fcuck all on its own.

To gain anything power wise you would need:-

VF34/35 turbo
Injectors
Fuel pump
Remap

Then you have to think about the clutch, brakes etc.

Sorry guys I have to disagree, iv got a my2000 uk spec turbo with just full 3" decat exhaust and panel filter a fitted a 2006 Sti top mount (what a bitch to do) and I have noticed a significant difference, throttle response as better and turbo spools quicker I don't see the point in having it rollered as its almost standard but I have defo seen a difference from this intercooler

Really i had it in my head a larger intercooler be better and would give some sort of gain over a standard wrx one i have a vf28 sat in my garage was planning on getting pink sti injectors at some point then fitting it all and getting it mapped again didnt know if it would of been worth getting a sti tmic for better flow over the standard wrx one as pipe work is different

With VF28 plus STi pink injectors and yours current WRX TMIC you should be OK.
WRX TMIC are effective up to 330-350bhp,above that STI TMIC or FMIC will be better choice

On Classic is better to have fitted later TMIC just due is bigger than older TMIC on Classic

I agree but just make sure if your going to fit a new age top mount you research it first and realise wat your getting into mine took a mate with a fabricating business to make up custom brackets and dv piping and still slightly knocks on start up but I can live with that! And it looks a lot better I'll post some pics tomorrow of my DIY job

Yes there is direct fit, just be sure STi TMIC comes with Y pipe,if not you will need buy Y pipe

This should help there

Second thing is you will need STi intercooler splitter/undertray(but not sure if you will need too bigger scoop from STi ,but someone this will confirm) or you can made one

Fitted a newage tmic to my classic, thought it was a sti one has listed on ebay. Found out it was a newage one when it came, so got it for £20 in the end . Slightly bigger then my classic one, and very easy to fit. The only thing i had to get was the front pipe conector that my dump valve piping goes on , has my classic one was different, and a piece of alloy plate to make a small bridging spacer on drivers side intercooler mount.
Very easy job, have not noticed any difference tho, but i no it will help when i up the power slightly.
