2 grand would have bought god knows what for an Impreza, not just a plate you'll need a "strategically" placed screw for

Your car though, lend me £50 as you have cash to spare

You do know that you have to position the letters and number correctly, don't you?

If you do it doesn't look like a £2000 plate.

I was offered £9000 for my plate a few months ago .... but it reads what it should without messing about with it!

It's a nice plate but 2 grand seems far too much IMO.
If you've got enough spare cash to pay it then fair play chap.

£2000 for S60 OBE
or
£2000 for S600B E and a lot of hassle from the police.

If the plate was legally allowed to show the latter I might understand but looking at what it really is I dont understand the price Im afraid.

I've had 2 of mine for 22 years now and have forgot the price but the pleasure in looking at them is great

In May I bought BU11DOG for £2000,after buying it we realised we didnt have a car new enough to put it on. I mailed the seller and he gave me a refund next day.In July I bought the new car,I wish I had kept it on retention. Its now up with a dealer for £35k

Gutted. I was thinking that £2000 for a plate like that was a pretty good price. Its never £35k though but it might have netted you a tidy profit. Why didn't you keep it on retention?

Thats the only problem with car specific number plates. Ive seen a few 'AMG' plates on Audis where they presumably owned a Mercedes before.

I had no intention of replacing any of our vehicles at the time so it was no use.On the ad the seller had made a mistake with what year it would go on hence I bought it thinking it would go on the Jag. sods law and all that eh,I agree no number plate is worth 35grand,unless monies no object, but its a good plate
