Default Anti-lag exhaust bangs?

Hello just been on you tube and spotted this on a few Subaru's, just wondering what causes this and does it do any damage to the car? Many thanks

Its usually only after market ecus that have it mapped in or on a switch, not good for the turbo as it causes over heating, unless its proper als then its not worth it, i have it on mine but never use it, bit of a gimmick really bit handy for getting tailgaters off lol

if you just want pops and bangs then you're better off getting them mapped in when having a remap done as it's much safer than anti lag and useable everyday without screwing your turbo and engine up

Heres mine on EcuTek 3 "Pops and Bangs" added in.

And heres mine on ALS on the SimTek/Alcatek ECU. Very different in noise and driving etc.

Gives you an idea.

You will need ECU which this can allow, like SimTek/AlcaTek or Syvecs,MoTeC or Link ECU etc

But on the New age ECU is possible to have ALS or LC,just speak to your mapper and he will advise to you

What car you have ?

And where are you located?

I have a 2003 sti. My mapper does group n anti lag iirc. I'm in Scotland. I'm sure I need to run mafless with speed density or something. Will that make it sound like that 3rd video? Lol

Sounds good, yes this Group N(now CarBerry ROM) will allow you to run Mafless and ALS and LC,will sound similar, this depends on more factors like exhaust etc.

On Youtube is lots of videos about the CraBerry ROM,here is one

I don't use my car much anyway lol. And to be honest, I would only get it if it was switchable. Just for show really

Like every ALS on road cars is only for show off, with proper ALS you will loose servo etc.

And yes can be switchable via button, just speak to your mapper about this option

I didn`t say they did. I`m expressing an opinion on a public forum like I`m allowed to do. You want your car sounding like the engine is about to go bang, then you go for it
