Default New world record for 4wd Impreza

Finally brought the 4WD impreza record back to the UK yesterday. Has been in Auz with the Rigollis for many years. Just pipped it with an 8.32 at 173mph backed up with 8.33 at 177mph. 60' on the 8.33 was 1.46 so more to come there for sure.

Lisa has loaded up some videos, it was a different camera she had so there's a bit of, erm, scenery involved lol.

We done 5 runs

Warm up run on 1.5 bar boost 1.52 60' 8.54@169mph
Run 2 with burnout 1.9 bar 1.38 60' 8.35@173mph
Run 3 1.9 bar getting colder, 1.44 60' 8.32@173mph
Run 4 2.1 bar colder again, 1.46 60' 8.46@177mph
Run 5 1.9 bar (5 mins after run 4) 1.45 60' 8.33@172mph

You can see from the burnouts we were struggling as the day went on to get heat in the tyres, barely any steam, never mind burning rubber!!

Last 3 runs

Yes its the same engine as I run but in a tube frame chassis, RWD, Lenco drag gearbox, 9" ford Axle, fully tubbed and on slicks. Not road legal but a race car.
Thats the next target!

You should keep your car road legal Andy, that makes it even more special in my opinion.

Sorry but that's absolutely f*cking ridiculous!!! Does anyone know what a WRC car and F1 car would cover a 1/4 in?

Congratulations Andy, that's utterly amazing

Very impressive Andy.

What engine is it running now?
More importantly, how big is that turbo?
