Default STI hard intake pipe - opinions?

I have a 2006 Spec C Type 20 and the standard hard plastic intake pipe is looking a bit tatty.

Is there any advantage to be gained by changing to this hard intake pipe:

I know it was used on all the "special" JDM models like the S202, S203, S204, RA-R, etc. I suppose there must be some advantages in terms of air flow, perhaps faster spool?

There is a product recall on that intake iirc!!!

The spec c and STI intake of your year is large. Should your turbo or intake kit dictate otherwise, keep with what you have IMO.
