oil changes
#2
First you need all the parts, new filter, sump plug washer and oil. Warm the engine first, makes the oil flow better when draining. Jack up and support the front of the car, remove plastic undertray, if fitted. Remove sump plug and catch contents in a suitable container, clean plug, replace washer and refit to sump, tighten to about 25 lb/ft. Use an oil filter removal tool and unscrew the filter, watch out for more oil pouring out. Take new filter, smear clean oil onto rubber seal, ( I always fill the filter with new oil at this point), screw new filter onto engine and hand tighten. Replace platic undertray, remove jacks/axle stands, make sure car is level and fill with recommended amount of oil, check on dipstick, when lvel is up to the max mark, start engine, idle only until oil light is out. Check for leaks and stop engine, leave for 5 mins and recheck level.
