Tubular or Ported OEM. That is the question?
Hey guys,
Bit of a dilemma, currently running a 2005 STi with no modifications other than a set of cheapo tubular headers that have cracked at the collector pipe but have been re-welded as a temporary fix.
Graham Walker kindly ordered me a brand new Japspeed 3 bolt header and up-pipe which are currently sitting in the box unopened.
Here are my options:
A) Get the Japspeed headers fitted with DEI heatshield (extra £50 cost) and buy Harveys trick up-pipe
B) Sell Japspeed headers, purchase used OEM STi headers, get them ported and use Harveys up-pipe setup?
Bare in mind which the addition of taking option A or B, I will be doing a decat, fitting a Blitz Nur Spec R (Full 3" system), upgrading waterpump and getting a remap by RaceDynamix once everything is fitted.
Would like to hear your views and opinions, what is going to give me least stress and also good for performance/reliability.
Thanks,
G
