2K to spend on mods but what help!!

Question

Well thanks to an insurance payout I have 2K spare cash burning a hole in my pocket and I have decided to spend it on the scoob but cant decide what to get, what would you guys spend it on PPP, AP 6 pots??? bearing in mind I want to do few tracks days. Cheers

Hi Jake, thanks for replying to my mail about the brakes a few weeks ago.Went for AP 4 pots in the end.C'ant reaaly comment on them yet as I'm still bedding them in.Good luck with the mods. Deep

Jake, PPP is fantastic and just too good to miss, plus it retains warranty etc. But you'll need better brakes for track days.

Are those ST2s 17in? Both APR 4-pot and 6-pots will fit, as will Prodrive/Alcons. Don't go for a cheap disc/pads upgrade. A top quality disc is at the heart of big brake upgrades. Save up or just put it on your plastic. You know you want to

Hoppy, so what your saying is that a big brake upgrade is a good idea before the PPP, and the ST2s are 17s but surely AP 6pots are less then 2 grand about £1800 or am I wrong hopefully there will be no need for my flexible friend.

Unichip needs some fine tuning,as the guys at the rolling road day(atPE) will confirm!! The car gave out a whopping 302 lb/ft of torque but BHP was down as it was'nt holding boost at the topend.Hopefully this will be sorted out by another trip to the very helpful guys at PS.I may haave a cheaper route to big brakes that might be of interest. I used AP 4 pots with Willwood 310mm discs(obviously 330mm would fit behind your 17 inchers) greenstuff pads,steel hoses etc This cost about £1100 fitted.Have only driven about 150 miles on them yet but are already far superior to the original 4 pot set up.I went for these because a number of guys on the bbs recommended them including ones who do track days.I must say that the most significant improvement I see with the setup is at high motorway speeds when they really shine over the originals.I would however like them to improve about another 15% with more bedding in to give them a full A1,5 star rating.If you want to know about the supplier(who can supply AP 6 pots as well) mail me offline.Also you are welcome to try mine if you like to see if they are worth the money.Now, what to do with the £900 you'll have left over........
ps if you do a search under the brake heading with Willwood(?Wilwood) you'll find more peoples comments on them .Cheers

Do the brakes and buy a good driving course! For £300 you will get more performance per pound by improving your skill level than by any other means. It will make you safer too.......

I'm with mike. Do the brakes first. Going fast is no good if ya can't stop.

My next planned upgrade for the blackbeast (after airvent scoops and broquet) is a brake upgrade. Getting pads n discs upgraded as I speak, but I really want a 4-pot setup, would love 6pot but no cash, plus would need 17s which I don't have, plus if I was going to get bigger wheels I'd probably go for 18's
