Cat c and d wagon for sale
Hi all went to see a 2007 wagon for sale on eBay today.here is link
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2007-SUBAR...-/271064296184
Looks very nice and went out for a test drive and mechanically it's sound. Drives very well.only problem it's been a cat c in 2009 and then a cat d in 2011.
After market Front bumper doesn't quite fit true to body.apart from that it looks good
Thoughts please as to whether I should avoid like the plague.
How much would it be worth to buy
Thanks

I would not go near any cat car as I have had nothing but headache selling them on plus a cat c means its been smashed up good and proper not to fix it at a cost that's not more than the car is worth.
i have just sold my audi S4 which was a cat D. took me a while to sell too!. was a 2003 4.2 v8 version. sold for 5250. if i wasnt a cat D id been asking for more like 7/8000
i would think a cat C would devalue more than a cat D so unless u get it for like 3000 id say no as its going to have its problems. and be a nightmare to sell on. especially if the panels are not fitting right

Not all cars have been smashed up and repaired.. some are because the insurance companies don't want to pay for the repairs because of the costs..

A cat D is a whole different ball game to a cat C.
Cat D is minor damage whereas to be a cat C there must of been some serious damage.
If your looking at Cat cars to save a few quid I'd advise buying an older not cat registered car. Unless its dirt cheap I'd avoid and I'd deffinately avoid a cat C regardless of price. I wouldn't want to be the one trying to sell it that's for sure, these cars are hard enough to sell when straight so a bent one would be a bloody nightmare
One thing is for sure, the one in your link isn't worth what he's set his buy it now price at, not by a long shot.

I'd steer clear Jason. OK, so the cat D claim might have been something small, but in reality, its most likely had two shunts. If someones binned it twice, i'd guess its been ragged for most of its life so i'd be worried about the mechnical condition of it as well!
Whilst 5 years older, Gonza's wagon on SES is a very nice example and a good price too
