1995 Subaru WRX questions!! I just looked at one to buy and have some questions.
Hello, I just recently went and look at a 1995 Subaru WRX. I have a few questions I can hopefully have answered.
First off.. the car has had an engine swap into the same stock EJ20G engine, the last one was water locked and needed replacing. The owner told me the previous owner had swapped it and just by the looking at it, its hard to tell that it was even swapped. But having the engine been swapped makes me some what nervous. Second, the tires were warn pretty badly on the inside, and was not smooth when running your hand along it. Why would that be? There were a few other small issues but none really to be discussed here. The body of the car had 105k kms on it and the engine has 80k ish. He's asking $7300 for it. It's also had a Greddy TurboBack exhaust kit installed. Do you think he is selling it for a fare price?? Thanks!

Firstly $7300 is wayyy ott not sure what the prices are like where you live but over here a 1995 wrx can go for £800-£4000 for a showroom condition. I wouldn't worry about the engine as the majority have been out for either piston work or gasket so dont worry about that aslong as it runs good there pretty straight forward swaps...
As for the tyres sounds like the camber needs adjusting if those are the only worries then IMHO there not really big problems as long as it boosts well holds temp perfect and has no major rust issues then Itl be fine but price still seems stupid to me but again not sure how hard they are to get over there

Thanks for your reply! Yeah, I noticed this was a UK site. Couldn't find one that is based around here. One Canadian Dollar is worth 0.7988 Euro's. So $7300 is ruffly 5700 Euros. I can probably drop the guy down to $6300. So that's more around the price of one over in the UK. Thanks for your feed back, and yes the car looks, sounds, and runs great. The interior has absolutely nothing wrong with it and the body only has a few minor paint chips. Im going to look at it again soon. I think I'll probably end up buying it.
