Upgrade windscreen washer jets to mist ones?
Hi all,
Newbie here!
Just got my first subaru and its a dream. However, i had mist spray nozzels on my last car and on the scooby its pointy jets are just not the same.
When i changed them on my last car, it was just a newer model car and they were just simple swap over.
My question is, are there any one that are simple fit or am i looking at a bit more work? I have searched and found some people mention a Peaugeot or Citroen ones. However didn't mention the year or style of car.
Oh, mines a blobeye 2006 year.
Cheers for any help.

Evening all,
The jets i ordered came today. They only took 5 mins to fit and seem to work really well. Going 80 mph where the old jets would hardly reach the windscreen, these still cover a large area. The only downside is they are rather bulky. Saying that they dont look to bad on the car as the scoop hides them from the front. In my opinion worth the 15 quid. Obv not the same quality as the more expensive types out there, but they are 100% better than my old failing ones.
Heres some pix.

cheers for the update and also the pictures.
I've just ordered some for a citroen or Peugeot. Are a bit cheaper, just over £5, and i "think" they will fit.
link to ones i ordered.
I will also update on what they are like when they arrive.

mine arrived today and just fitted.
They are a little larger than the oem ones, They do fit ok, but i'd say easy ish to pull out. The spray is really good and i'm well happy i've done it.
So I can confirm that these fit.

£4.99 for a pair posted from e-Bay for a Vauxhall Insgnia. They may or may not be the same as Subaru. There is also fan sprays for Subarus from another vendor for £12.99 for a pair.
I don't know if they will be any better than the existing but finding out will be interesting.

Hi,
Sorry to dig up an old thread as my move from long term lurker to first post newbie, but I want to change the dual spray windscreen jets on my hawkeye to wide spray nozzles & this was the most recent and relevant thread I could find.
I don't want nozzles that light up, just plain black ones which spray out a generous fan of wash and which are easy to swap over. The generic ones on ebay seem to be about £20, which seems a bit steep, and I'm always a bit worried about 'universal fit'.
So can anyone recommend me a set of wide spray jets?
Thanks,

just one small point...on a hawkeye the water bottle sits further down in the bumper in front of the passenger wheel. the issue i found is that the pump now struggles to provide a big enough "fan" with the citroen ones fitted. it'll barely spray above halfway, and worse still when on the move it barely gets a quarter up the screen! this wasnt an issue with the normal pin hole spray nozzles
yes the pump could be partially blocked or something but its a bumper off job to get at the water bottle now!

I got the Pug items linked above off ebay for a fiver...
work well at low speeds but only realy get bottom third of the screen wet at speed.
so well timed pushes of the button when the wipers are 'down' is what is needed when on the motorway
other than that, easy to fit and I havnt swapped back after the 18months or so since I got them

How do I make my windscreen washer mist jets higher?
Hi, I've just changed my Peugeot 306 windscreen washer jets to mist jets and the water now barely makes the windscreen.
Do I need a new windscreen washer pump (mine's a 2001 so could possibly be it)? Or is there a cheeky tip I can use to improve the pressure? I saw a couple of tips about a sob of glue on the washer to deflect the spray up and another to put in a non return valve. Not sure if this would help me.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Has anyone tried the Volvo mist washers? My dad has them on his V70 and I'm thinking that it's a similarly angled bonet and windscreen to the Impreza (Classic, anyway), so may be a better angle for the jets:

Not massively expensive, either.

I have the same problem, brought a set off eBay and although they fit quite well the water just about clears the wipers, hardly worth changing them over.
Might have to swap them back as its MOT time in a month, I am sure they would be classed as inadequate due to the delivery of water.
