Default wheel bearing?diff? or something else?

alright there, well had my 2001 bugeye wrx for about 3 weeks now,if youve seen other posts then you will now mine has a bad o2 sensor and leaky rocker cover gasket. but just to add to things now it has started to make a funny groan or like an owl noise from rear drivers side wheel area. my first reaction was wheel bearing but it seems to intermittent for that and it only seems to do it under 20 miles an hour.it does'nt seem to do it specificallly round left or right corners. ive looked through here and is it true that i cant check it like a normal bearing by movement/play in the wheel? should i just keep driving and wait for it too get worse? it does'nt do when cold either only after 5/6 miles. i also thought maybe the brakes were rubbing but seems to different a noise for that. can descibe maybe as an owl wooing or if youve ever had a noisy pipe in your house that makes similar noise. strange.thanks if anyone can shed some light! the noise when it does start is intermittent.
