If I lock my car hence setting the alarm and leave the windows open surely the alarm should sound if I poke my head in through one of them???
Also, if the dog is left in the back it should go off surely??
Is it faulty?? or is it a 'feature' of the car to go with my hesitation??

if you have got the factory fit sigma then i'm pretty sure that you can tun the internal sensors off by using the keypad look in the alarm book and it should tell you how to reactivate them if they are turned off

Alot of alarms will sense if there is something in the car before it adjusts and adapt to it, thus only leaving perimeter sensors active, but then again i have an after market system.....
when u shove your head through the door it shoud pick you up and be set off, most are set off by either the interior light being activated or the glass breaking.

When I had my Pug 205 with Peugeot alarm, you could press the arm button twice which would de-activate the sensors. This was useful when the windows were open in summer.
See if your alarm has a similar system

Dream Weaver - thanks yes it has a system by way you can de-activate the internal sensors, if, you are leaving a dog in the car for instance.

If your dog is quite mean looking then you could just lock the driver's door as you get out which, due to the central locking, will lock the other doors as well. Then just shut door
When want to unlock just press key fob, which sets alarm and quickly press again to unlock.
Car should be fine - our dog goes apes**t if anyone goes within a few feet of the car - nobody sane would try and break in.
Cheers,
Tom
