Default Brilliant(ish) day at Bruntingthorpe

1st time i've been to this event so rounded up the lads (Scoobjam and Dippy) and headed over today. Jamie has been round Brunters before and was hoping to get on track, but was'nt pinning his hopes on it.

What a day, started off with a passenger ride in a GT3 RS, driven by a guy who drove it like he stole it. He had the car dancing and hit 160+ on the main straight, a fiver well spent. Then paid £35 for a helicopter ride, something i've not done for years, well chuffed.

Bit of lunch to follow then had a lap on the rally circuit in a Lotus Sunbeam. Stupidly quick little car and great fun going sideways through all the static planes. This was quickly followed by watching a 100mph JCB on the runway!

After that I got the chance to go for a lap in John Felsteads P1. Unfortunately, someone decided to re-arrange the bodywork on it when a Ford GT40 drove down the pit lane with his door open and whacked it into Johns car

Finally Jamie got the chance to go on track after sweet talking one of the stands. Had a great laugh taking people out on passenger rides but then....oops!!

The carbon bonnet decided to seperate at 130mph and flew 40ft in the air, narrowly missing a GTR. Not then end to the day we'd hoped for, but still had a great time.

Some pics

The bloke in the GT3 was a quality driver and we had a good chat as he's also got an Impreza. His car control was superb, and the GT3 is such a brilliant track car. Even as a passenger you can feel the weight hanging out the back but he just pushed and pushed and it just didnt want to lose grip. He launched it through the chicane and onto the straight sideways and was still accelerating through the cones at the bottom.

I remember him saying "i'm gonna get 160 this time" as we got to the bottom of the straight, my **** said "hope you've got good brakes"!!!!

I went out in the white GT3 RS and it was my best lap tbh, along with Skullfudge who really went for it too

Hope all the cars got out today...... It was like parking on a wet sponge in some places and there were a few cars that "sunk" into the ground. Great day though and the kids liked it too.

The silver GT40 hit my P1 as i was stopped .
Tried to find him but he stopped his car and ran off !!! .
Was speaking to a few tvr guys and they said he ran off .
did not come back to his car for hours ,went to run up to him but he drove round the track and then went home .
just hope dent master can remove it ,if he cant have to have the side sprayed .
