cool, whats usually the difference between a stocker and a v limited? I know the RA's are stripped of refinements, lighter bonnet etc so what does the v limited get, or not get?
2 door shell
wrx running gear
no dccd
stripped of all creature comforts
About right?
Correct apart from the creature comforts part. My V5 STI RA Ltd has all the RA parts (intercooler spray, roof flap, no abs, DCCD, low gear ratios, quick-shift & quick steering rack) but because it was the special edition that Subaru charged a fortune for it has electric mirrors, electric window, central locking & air-con.
I'm presuming the WRX Type R V-Limited has all the comforts as well (but even though there was one in our club I have never actually seen one in the flesh).

On normal RA's they were, the RA Ltd's got all the toys. The Ltd's were practically top of the range and cost a premium over the standard WRX / STI.
It goes against the principal of the RA being the entry level cheapest Impreza because it didn't have all the toys but Subaru cashed in on the RA's cult following (and produced a very nice car in the process - but then I'm biased ).
