Default Over revving when changing gear enquiry

Has anyone experienced this:

Only just noticed but when I am putting my foot down & changing from 2nd - 3rd or 3rd - 4th gear the revs appear to increase by 300 - 500 revs as I engage the clutch.

For example if I lift off accelerator at 3500 in 2nd & engage clutch for 3rd at same time rev counter goes up to 3900. Now if I completely take my foot off accelerator and then engage clutch less aggressively it is not as bad.

The only thing I have changed is gone to centre de-resonated & backbox from my original Prodrive mid & backbox.

Anyone any ideas??

I thought this was a feature of the recirculating dump valve and in keeping the power on when changing through the gears.

has it been mapped recently? This happened to me after a remap,I was told it was the icv needed cleaning after going to see several "specialists"@ approx £60 a pop to try and get it fixed turns out it was a mapping issue for which i had to pay again to get it put right. If you decide to clean the icv get the rubber sealing ring beforehand, they seem to stretch when you take the icv off. One "specialist" tried to use silicon sealer instead of the ring.

I did have the same prob after the last map over about 3000 rpm when going up the gears but as usual Simon (JGM) gave it a tweak for free, That's why I will always use him for my mapping he just must get it stop on.

Mine does this too I hit the shift light remove my foot from the loud pedal the revs then drop. I engage the clutch the shift light then kicks off again even tho my loud foot is completely away from the loud pedal. I change gear release the clutch it rides like I can't drive and I feel stupid. Hopefully a remap will sort this I don't think its idle control valve as the car has no idle problems whatsoever.

I still have the issue, there is no problem at all with the car at all, it idles correctly & runs/pulls ok. One or two ppl have said it may be the clutch slipping so I am just keeping my eye on it for the mo.

apparently its something in the software of the car to reduce stress on transmission when changing gear. I'm sure a boffin will probs give more detail or correct me if i'm wrong.
