Default What should a 2005 WRX idle at?

As the subject reads really, was just wondering what sort of revs it should idle at.
There's one up for sale I've seen and one of the photos shows the revs at 500 and I just thought that seemed a bit low.
Is that normal?
Cheers

(apologies if it's a stupid question, I'm a noob! )

Weird as a couple of guys on another forum are saying the opposite and it seems low!
I'll go and have a look at the car and then see what it sounds and drives like!

Hi, Mine ticks over about 500-600rpm. I believe its because of the boxer engine( well balanced) Remember these cars are not fords and dont need 800 rpm to keep em ticking over :-)

If you look very carefully at the rev counter. The dash that appears to be at 500rpm actually isnt. Its at around 750rpm. This is put there as an idle indication of where it should be on a standard car. There is no 500rpm mark on a standard rev counter.

Sorry mate, possibly me being thick here but the pic I've seen shows the revs half way between 0 and 1 so I assumed it was 500? Granted there are fewer calibration interval marks between 0 and 1 than there are between the rest of the rev markers but I'd still have thought half way would be 500?
Apologies if I'm missing the point!

Mine ticks over at 850, thought 800-900 was normal from what I've been told
