Alot of countries like Australia are very hard to import cars, so if you need to swap some bits over you import the half of the car that shouldn't be able to see the road. Saw a video about it on Youtube the other day.

 

They are "Front Cuts"

The back ends are cut off the Jap cars & removed Then as much as possible is stuffed into the front, stuck in a container & shipped off.

Most of the cars there are classic STis which never made it to the US/Canada so command a premium over there.
