what engine is in my scooby,

hi guys may sound a bit of a dumb question, but what engine would be in my impreza i.e. GC8/ Ej20 etc.. i have a 1999 awd 2000 turbo. many thanks in advance for any replies. thanks

lol yeah i know that part buddy, i mean what engine model code, like some are GC8 and other EJ20 or something i just cant seem to find out what mine is. thanks anyway.

Gc8 is the chassis/model, ej20 is the engine

open the bonnet and look at the little metal strip by the suspension strut. write the numbers and letters down and google it.

would any of u guys happen to knw if the GC8 engine bay is the same as GF8.

Having had both a classics saloons and a wagon, IIRC the only difference I can recall is the shape/pump on the wiper squirters. UK saloons didn't get a rear wash wipe but the wagons did (so did all imports).
