Default Camskill order

Hi,

Ordered / paid for 4 Toyo Proxes TR-1's yesterday from Camskill.

225 / 45 / R17

Very well priced at £81 a corner, and only £3 per tyre for delivery.

However, just clicked into the link on my yahoo email to track my items (Citylink) and it says the number of items is 3!

Anyone else had this? Perhaps they are packed as a 2 and two seperate tyres? We'll see tomorrow!

Wouldn't worry about it.

Same thing has happened to me, and I work for City Link, for my sins.

Yes I've been hearing good reviews on the verdis too, that's what I heard of the t1rs until I tried them,FAIL for me.

Thinking of Goodyear *** 2 next as these are my road tyres ,when I get shot of these although there's a bit of life left yet

Are the verdis strong sidewalls, what they like in wet? Have you got them on newage or classic?

My local tyre garage which is part of the Micheldever tyre group ( their main depot is near Basingstoke, not far from you ) offered me the same tyres for £85 a corner fitted and balanced

Yes had heard of them, never been, but forgot about them to be honest!

I hope these tyres work out ok.
If I don't like them, I guess I'm stuck with them until they wear out. But if I really can't stand them, they'll be off and I'll start again!

I work for Volkswagen and Rubber Darryl will be balancing / fitting them for me.

I am generous though, so he'll get a score for that. I trust him that he won't muller my wheels!

Just about to get a set of re070's £98 a corner from camskills, A great tyre and what my car should have fitted as standard, Previous owner put T1-r's on it and they have pretty good grip in the dry, can be entertaining in the wet but can main downside for me is they wear pretty quick due to the softer compound if given a bit of stick

Verdys have strong walls and a rim protector. I've had them on both scoobys and my old evo and they are great in the wet but obviously only as good until you drive silly so to speak lol Have had them on my newage sti very quiet tyre last well can't speak highly enough of them.

Do the Nurburgring more or less every year and they loved it!

I'm ordering these on your recommendation so they better be good !

surprisingly fell in love with avon z3s recently but they also suffer from a soft tyre wall.

I take it their going on your hawkeye, IMO think these are ok for classics as to where most of the good feedback comes from but on heavier newages they are not so good IMO but some people like them, prob Sunday drivers lol
They might be ok for you but no were near as your re070s.
The t1rs sidewalls are too soft and just slide when cornering hard and loose grip but they are not too bad. But I'm NOT getting them again.
If you want to change your mind, phone camskill and order something else and refuse delivery when the toyos come

This is pretty much my thoughts on them too, though no Evo. Had them on my last two Newage STI's and at this moment in time I'll not use another road tyre on my Impreza. The only thing I would say is that first impression when fitted is average, BUT once they're scrubbed in they are very very good and as above they are pretty good in the wet too.

The TR1's on Camskill site are 94 rated extra load sidewalls so it's a lot of nonsense about them being too soft!! You'll have no problem with these tyres

Just to add there is the new improved Sessanta called the Vorti, whilst I've not used them and don't know if they're good or not. They have apparently been developed from the Sessanta with an improved tread pattern.

I found toyos better grip in the dry but worse grip in the wet to standard tyres. Back to Pirelli Pzero Neros for now here...
