Default DCCD question.....

Hi,

I have been reading the owners handbook on my Scoob regarding the DCCD (WRX STi Spec D Hawkeye) and I'm none the wiser.

The book tells me how to flick a switch and turn a dial but what am I actually doing?

Am I putting more power to the back wheels?

Lock? why would I lock up the back wheels? For getting out of a nasty bit of ice or something or a very steep slope? Is it a track day gimmic?

I'm just lost as to what my gains are by adjusting the DCCD.

I've always left it in auto for normal yet sprited driving. Not owned the Spec D long, but did own a 54 plate WRX STi Type UK PPP five years ago, and that had it too.

Any advice or examples of experiences when you have adjusted your DCCD would be much appreciated.

Many thanks,

Matt

The dccd was used to lock all wheels together at the diff so all turn at the same speed , so more grip on loose surface ie rallying

Start here. I've only ever used it to lock the diffs while driving in thick snow. I doubt you would notice much difference between settings in road use.
